Friday night saw the World Premiere of a unique collaboration between the Metropole Orkest and Basement Jaxx in a performance conducted by Jules Buckley and featuring Jaxx regulars Vula Malinga, Sharlene Hector, Brendan Reilly, Oli Savill and Lisa Kekaula.
We would like to thank the Metropole Orkest, all the singers, the choir that sang on a few pieces, Jules Buckley for keeping it all together, even when the going got tough, and, of course, everyone that came along and helped make it such a brilliant night.
Metropole Orkest is pleased to announce the world premiere of its unique collaboration with British dance music duo Basement Jaxx on Friday 4 February 2011 in Eindhoven.
Metropole Orkest will be performing classical and contemporary orchestral versions of the many hits of Basement Jaxx, including “Red Alert”, “Where’s Your Head At”, “Good Luck” and “Raindrops”, conducted and orchestrated by leading London composer, Jules Buckley, in collaboration with Basement Jaxx themselves, and featuring many of the singers from their legendary live show which has graced the main stages of the worlds major music festivals including Lowlands and Pinkpop in the Netherlands. The evening will also include the very first performances of some new Basement Jaxx material, written by Felix Buxton, especially for this event.
